St John the Baptist, Chelveston Cum Caldecot
The 13th century church of St. John the Baptist, whose community is recorded in the Doomsday Book of 1086, serves the parish of Chelveston-cum-Caldecott and is a Resolution A and B church. The church is situated 2 miles east of Higham Ferrers on the B645. The village of Chelveston is on the north side of the B645, the hamlet of Caldecott is on the south side of the B645. | On the east face of the tower is a memorial to the American airmen of the 305th Bomber Group who served out of Chelveston Airfield during WWII. The 305th Bomber Group Memorial Association in 1980 supported us financially in the restoration of the tower. In the church is a copy of "The Book of Governors" presented to Chelveston Parish Council in 1992. The book contains copies of letters from the Governor of every one of States of America.
